THANK GOD FOR GEEKS

One just fixed my e-mail-remotely.

It took him 20 minutes.

That’s hours in human time.

AKISMET

When I go to my Dashboard and Akismet tells me that something is spam-I don’t even look at it. I just delete it because so far they have never been wrong. And it saves me that, “My eyes! My eyes!” reaction. Call me naive but there are some things that I just don’t need to see. Thanks Akismet!

HAPPY SAINT PATRICK’S DAY

My house will smell of an old tenement today-corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, carrots and turnips.

I cook it in beer.

Himself will love it.

Don’t forget to wear a bit of the green!

And if you go out tonight, find your nearest Irish pub.

Nothing says “St. Patrick’s Day” like green beer…

SOUNDS LIKE OPEN SOURCE TO ME

“I was really taken by how genuine and pure they are. I’ve never met any group of people, in any walk of life, who are so true to themselves. It’s not about money, or fame, or how they are perceived by the public or the media — it’s all about the waves, and a love of the sport. I was also fascinated by the diverse personalities, about as radical a difference as you can find, and how a single purpose brought them all together.”

Katherine Clark ,El Granada Realtor and former owner of the Road House Cafe in Princeton Harbor, was speaking about surfers. She may as well have been speaking about people who work in open source.
